Family Counselling and Family Therapy
We know that families can be a wonderful source of support, but that they can also present challenges too. If your family is working through something difficult at the moment, you may find it useful to talk to a family therapist.
What is Family Counselling?
Family Counselling can help with all kinds of things, from long running issues to things that have only come up following a big change.
This form of therapy is a service we provide to help members of a family better communicate with each other and resolve their differences. Maybe your family structure has recently changed, you might have got divorced, separated or have a new step family. Perhaps you have lost someone and you are struggling to adapt and cope together.
These are just a few examples. Whatever your problem the Relationship Therapy Centre are here to give you non judgmental support and encouragement in a safe and confidential environment.
Family counselling is very flexible as every family is different. Our goal is to build stronger relationships between every member of your family so you can enjoy being together and face life’s challenges as a team.
What happens in Family Counselling?
You can choose to come to Family Counselling alone or with other members of your family.
When you meet your counsellor, they’ll ask you about what’s going on and what you’d like to see change. If there is more than one person present, they’ll listen to each person in turn and make sure that everybody gets a chance to speak.
We know that every family is different so Family Counselling is flexible. We can work with you to decide how often you and your family can attend – as well as the best location for your sessions.
What’s the cost of Family Counselling?
The Relationship Therapy Centre is a charity that helps people improve their relationships. We try to keep our session costs low, but since we don’t get local or government funding, we do need to charge for our services. What you pay for your counselling depends on your individual circumstances and if we have any available bursary support.
How does it work?
We cover a wide area from Ludlow in the north west to the Cotswolds in the south east. This means you can have face to face counselling to suit you during the day or evenings if you live anywhere in or around Hereford, Kidderminster, Bromsgrove, Worcester, Ross on Wye, Evesham, Broadway, Stow on the Wold, Cheltenham, Gloucester or Stroud. There is also the option to have counselling via webcam.
We know that one size doesn’t fit all, a single solution or approach cannot adequately address the diverse needs or circumstances of different individuals or situations. That is why the best way to find out if we can help is to get in contact, and we can discuss the best strategy for your individual circumstances.
