Children and Young People’s Counselling
If you’ve got stuff going on at home or at school, it can be tough trying to figure it out by yourself. Children and Young People’s Counselling with the Relationship Therapy Centre can help you talk over any difficult issues and think about what you’d like to do.
What‘s Children and Young People’s Counselling?
If it’s bullying, stress over exams, parents splitting up, arguments with friends, problems with the girlfriend or boyfriend or just feeling a bit low, we’re here to help.
There are times in every young person’s life when things get tough. We all know that families can be really hard work sometimes and when people are not getting on at home it can be difficult to concentrate at school or get on with friends. Plus, adolescence can be a really lonely time when no one seems to understands you.
If this resonates with you then talk to us, we can help.
What happens in a young person’s counselling session?
We will listen, respect the young person’s point of view. They will have a chance to talk openly about whatever’s is bothering them. The counsellor will not judge and keep everything confidential in the room.
Having someone to talk to who isn’t involved can be a really good way of thinking about things. Sometimes just talking about it out loud is enough to make a start. The counsellor will help to look at things in a different way. If you think differently you can feel differently and that can help you feel better.
“Our daughter has learned how to express and verbalise her anxieties using her words rather than aggressive, emotional behaviour and actions. She is going to school, she is going out and about. She is back!”
Who can have young people’s counselling and how much does it cost?
The Relationship Therapy Centre provides Children and Young People’s Counselling for people aged 7-19 (or up to 20 if you’re in full time education).
The Relationship Therapy Centre is a charity that helps people improve their relationships. We try to keep our session costs low, but since we don’t get local or government funding, we do need to charge for our services. What you pay for your counselling depends on your individual circumstances and if we have any available bursary support.
How does therapy work?
We cover a wide area from Ludlow in the north west to the Cotswolds in the south east. This means you can have face to face counselling to suit you during the day or evenings if you live anywhere in or around Hereford, Kidderminster, Bromsgrove, Worcester, Ross on Wye, Evesham, Broadway, Stow on the Wold, Cheltenham, Gloucester or Stroud. There is also the option to have counselling via webcam.
We know that one size doesn’t fit all, a single solution or approach cannot adequately address the diverse needs or circumstances of different individuals or situations. That is why the best way to find out if we can help is to get in contact, and we can discuss the best strategy for your individual circumstances.
